Book Review #1: Going Vintage

  Book name: Going Vintage
  Author: Lindsey Leavitt
  Publisher:Bloomsbury USA
  Release date: 3/26/2013
  Pages: 320
My personal rating: 4 out of 5

My Summary of this book:

Mallory's life is a mess.......

Mallory discovers that her boyfriend, Jeremy, is cheating on her with an online girlfriend her Username: 'BubbleYum'........."who online dates a girl with a username like that?" after she found out in the most horrible way..... going back on his computer history to help out on writing HIS project report for school, being the loyal girlfriend that she is, she swears off boys. She decided to take force by going on his "Facebook" page and get a little personal revenge (you'll have to find out what she if you read it). After posting the revenge on "Facebook" she gets a lot of back lash from his little "fan club" on her own page. Mallory thinks she has found the solution to her problem...she swears off modern technology, thinking that none of it would have happened if technology wasn't around in the first place. Inspired by a list of goals that she found in a box that her grandmother made in 1962, Mallory decides to “go vintage” and return to a simpler time (when boyfriends couldn’t cheat on you online). She sets out to complete her grandma’s list: run for pep club secretary, host a dinner party, sew a homecoming dress, find a steady, do something dangerous. But the list is trickier than it looks. And obviously finding a steady is out . . . no matter how nice Oliver (Jeremy’s cousin) is to Mallory, and how much they get along and enjoy the same things . But with the help of her sister, she’ll get it done. Somehow..... but later on under the circumstances does Mallory think Going Vintage is just going too far?

My personal review:  I really don't know where to begin with this book..... I.LOVE.IT.

The reason why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5, is because it was kind of sloooooooow paced. I mean if you like those calm laid back books then you should TOTALLY read it but um for me, it was just moving too slow for me. For like every 2 or 3 chapters there would be nothing going on. It would just draaaag. But when there is an interesting chapter that came, it was SO worth it. For me at the end of the book, there was many questions left unanswered for me, so I'm kind of hoping for a sequel to follow up on that. This wasn't one of the best books I've read but I am glad that I read it though, so I thank my best friend Kristen for convincing me to.
P.S: I haven't read any other books from this author and from way this book went I sadly don't plan on it unless its a sequel to Going Vintage.
